GANNDALF is uniquely positioned to strengthen agency-to-agency collaboration, providing privacy-preserving data-sharing mechanisms, AI-powered decision-support tools, and next-generation investigative methodologies. The consortium consists of six Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) from Finland, Greece, North Macedonia, Portugal, Romania and Spain. Their insights will drive the project’s development, ensuring practical and applicable solutions. The technological backbone of GANNDALF is provided by highly innovative SMEs and large tech companies, specializing in privacy-enhancing technologies, AI-powered decision-making, and collaborative investigation tools. This is further complemented by three research and academic institutions contributing expertise in AI-based crime analytics, privacy-preserving techniques, and knowledge management, alongside legal and data management insights. The project also includes organizations focusing on human-centric training, civic engagement, and seamless pilot execution and interactions between technology providers and LEAs.

During the first six months, partners have focused on:

  • Defining GANNDALF’s role in the evolution of collaborative crime investigation and identifying updated needs from LEAs and other stakeholders.
  • Analyzing technological advancements that emerged since the proposal submission to ensure the most up-to-date solutions are implemented.
  • Refining the GANNDALF system architecture, validation scenarios, and use cases to maximize impact.
  • Establishing a human-centric foundation, ensuring citizen engagement and societal impact assessments are fully integrated.
  • The culmination of the 6th month of cooperation in the project was the addition of a new partner – Dinova. Dinova Srl is an Italian company that offers strategic consulting and solutions for digital innovation and transformation. Operating through four main business units—Data & AI, Cloud & Dev, Digital Marketing, and Cyber Security — Dinova provides services such as advanced data analysis, cloud services, software development, digital marketing strategies, and cybersecurity solutions. The company emphasizes a human-centric approach, aiming to create ecosystems where individual improvement drives organizational progress.

As GANNDALF moves forward, it will set the foundation for cutting-edge cybercrime investigation methodologies, paving the way for transparent, privacy-conscious, and AI-powered solutions that will empower LEAs across Europe in their fight against cyber threats.
